Volný, Vít
This thesis deals with the developmental assistance and humanitarian aid from the states of the Gulf Cooperation Council in Kosovo. The goal is to understand what role plays a religion plays in developmental assistance and humanitarian aid in Kosovo. This thesis investigates the forms in which the process of Islamization of development assistance occurs, and how civil society and states cope with it. Methodologically, the author employs the principles of a case study: qualitative research was conducted in Kosovo using the methods of participant observation and semi-structured interviews. The thesis covers the development projects of GCC organisations and agencies and will show that religion has a key influence on these efforts. Regarding the practices used in Kosovo, the author shows that the states of GCC use development assistance and humanitarian aid as a mean of spreading religious teachings and beliefs of the Gulf region. Kosovo society has not been immune to these activities and Salafism (and in minority Jihadism) has gained followers in the Muslim community. However, the thesis shows that since 2014 with the help of the state structures, radical Islam has been on the decline while the GCC organisations spreading it, are no longer operational in Kosovo. NGOs and humanitarian aid
RADOSTOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis aims to describe the activities of non-governmental organisations and the provision of humanitarian aid and subsequently to find out what knowledge the citizens of the South Bohemian Region possess within these topics. The theoretical section contains individual information that defines specifically the content of non-governmental organisations, as well as humanitarian aid. The bachelor thesis selects and defines organizations that operate on the territory of the South Bohemian Region, including basic information on the provision of assistance to affected residents. An integrated rescue system is also mentioned in this work, which corresponds with the theme of this bachelor thesis through its activities. The research part is conducted by guided interviews and questionnaire surveys dealing with two research issues. To achieve the first goal and answer the research question "What humanitarian aid do non-governmental organisations provide?" managed interview questions have been set up that target specific non-governmental organisations. The questionnaire focused on the second question of the research section "What is the knowledge of the population of the South Bohemia Region about the provision of humanitarian aid?" In controlled interviews, I was given information such as ways of presenting the public, the most frequent target group or how many voluntary donors the organization has. Their most frequent activities include financial and manual assistance. Responses obtained in the research section showed that residents in the South Bohemia Region have at least a basic overview of the provision of humanitarian aid and non-governmental organisations. Respondents knew who could become a member of a non-governmental organisation and what are the examples of humanitarian aid.

Implementation of the mandate of the UNPROFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992-1995
Lalić, Jan ; Tejchman, Miroslav (advisor) ; Pikal, Kamil (referee)
The unwillingness of the international community to become involved militarily in Bosnian civil war between 1992-1995, made the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) a substitute for a decisive action. The absence of any foreseeable prospect of truce, which would have been supported by the presence of peacekeepers, led to the establishment of strictly humanitarian mandate for UN troops in the first phase of the war. They were supposed, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commisioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to secure functioning of the Sarajevo airport for humanitarian relief purposes and subsequently provide security for the UNHCR and its convoys providing humanitarian relief. Thesis "Implementation of the mandate of the UNPROFOR mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina between 1992-1995" deals with issues concerning humanitarian mandate in particular. This thesis aims to explain, through descriptive analysis, motives leading international community to deploy lightely armed peacekeeprs with uncharacteristic mandate to the region, which is absolutely inadequate for peacekeeping operations as I will show. It will subsequently analyze course of the implementation and problems, which were encountered by UN troops. The aim of this thesis is to prove, that UNPROFOR was not absolute failure as it is perceived,...
